This memorial is in Westerly, RI, not far from the Babcock Historical cemetery. John & Mary (Lawton) Badcock eloped to Westerly, RI in 1662 to this area... There are MANY graves...Badcock, James b.1612 England & John b.1644 Portsmouth, RI and their wives are all buried here.. Just up the road, on the opposite side is where the original house stood, on the hill...This was all Badcock land back then...
